Some good things have been happening and I just want to share with my blog family. I'm still dealing with Facebook's making me a lazy blogger. Somehow, I will have to make this work again. Maybe shorter, more frequents posts would be in order as I find myself going over my 140 quite frequently.
I have had three interviews for the same job. I applied for economic service worker with the state. Basically, taking applications and reviewing cases for food stamps, heating assistance, clothing vouchers, etc. I interviewed in all the surrounding counties but not this one. There is a six month training but a year or two before I would be taking on the full job. It starts at 23K.
The new superintendent is a little more "family" friendly and has approved my application for a substitute permit. To catch you up, I was RIF'd (Reduction In Force) and they hired a new applicant (the missus who I am divorcing) before the final evaluation. Spent time on unemployment, tried to sub but the old nazi superintendent wouldn't approve it. The state appointed him to another county but unemployment didn't pay enough to take the refresher courses.
So the board voted Monday to hire me. It's roughly $100 a day and even if I worked every day, there are only 180 instructional days. Do the math. Could I spend $5K in gas, wear and tear for a 45 minute commute twice a day? I miss the classroom.
My sister finally left her mentally abusive husband. It happened so fast. She's been anticipating it for years but last week she told me it was official. She wanted to sign everything to him just to have it over with. She managed to find a trailer for rent where she could take her dogs. The really neat thing about it? Three years ago, also on Thanksgiving eve, I moved into the place where I live now.
Wow! I just realized something. Three years is the longest I have lived anywhere since I was in high school. Old Squeaker has an infection. He's squirting all over the rug and making a nasty mess of the place. I can't keep up with it. Young Gypsy jumped off the cabinet last night about three o'clock and broke the lid on the fishtank. Yes friends, the little bitch fell in. Water everywhere!!!

while I can sympathize with the squirting nastiness and broken items, all I can really think about is this: AMATEUR!
let's talk when you have that crap times 30.

After I grow up and settle down, I'll find me a nice little dog that loves to eat cat shit.
sounds good, dwayne...but you just wait. that dog will eat the shit, and then throw it up all over the place...or it will give him the shits and you're back to square one.
Touche. You got me there.
Don't you just love how things always happen at the holidays?
I am glad you sister is escaping her abusive husband.
Two years ago, I found out my husband was cheating on me 4 days after Thanksgiving. We are working things out now, but the holidays will never be the same agian.
